We begin our journey in the city of Lima, make our way out across the desert, up into the mountains, and then down into the north-eastern jungle town of Tingo Maria.
This route takes us past the town of Canta, and then over El Cerro de Pasco giving us a total distance of approximately 500km to travel. Approximately 19-20 days to complete the journey (including pre trip preparation days, rest days, and post trip integration days).
What makes this route and this part of the world so unique is the possibility to experience such different and varied environments in such a short distance – ocean, desert, mountains, and the Amazon. This route is in the very real sense of the word – EPIC!
LIMA TO MANCORA

Explore the rugged coastline of Peru. Like a scene out of some mad post-apocalyptic movie, this is one of the most intense and spectacular coast environments on the planet. The contrast between an environment teeming with wildlife – sea lions, penguins, and millions of birds – and the utterly harsh desert environment created by the Andes rain barrier is truly wild.
Approximately 1,200km – three to four weeks.
While not as challenging in terms of altitude and hillclimbs, this route provides more than enough to pit yourself against mentally and physically as you experience the extreme temperatures, remote and desolate landscapes and traffic conditions along the way. One of the best things about this route will be our proximity to all the ocean swims and wildlife!

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
These trips have a start and end point, but the journey is flexible. That means that when necessary, we adapt our plans to cater for equipment issues, fatigue, weather, road conditions and other factors.
Be aware that there are no pre-determined campsites and occasionally we have to set up in the dark and/or rain. There is no support vehicle. Minor or major equipment repairs can happen and need to be adapted to. You will experience extreme cold and heat. Traffic can be intimidating and intense.
It’s important to acknowledge the nature of how difficult going on an actual adventure will be and proper preparation is crucial. Equally, these trips will also contain some of the most fun and blissed out moments of your life!
This is about you taking yourself on a truly life changing adventure in order to gain that most precious of resources – perspective. And it all happens while experiencing some of the most utterly spectacular environments on the planet.
For the duration of the trip, strictly no alcohol, smoking, or drugs.
